Work with us

We have several exciting projects currently underway. If you are interested in studying behavior from an interdisciplinary perspective, we encourage you to reach out to us. Our lab focuses on understanding decision-making processes through a combination of experimental work, machine learning, computational modeling, and neuroscientific tools like eye-tracking, EEG, and fMRI.

We explore fundamental psychological mechanisms such as Pavlovian conditioning and reinforcement learning and apply this knowledge to real-world contexts like consumption and commuting behavior. By integrating insights from psychology, neuroscience, and economics, our work aims to inform public policies and interventions that improve societal outcomes. We are also expanding our research to include non-human animal studies, which use similar experimental and computational approaches to deepen our understanding of decision-making.

We value collaboration and are not committed to hiring people with specific skills. Instead, we welcome anyone interested in contributing to our mission, whether your expertise lies in experimental design, data analysis, or theoretical modeling.

If you’re passionate about exploring behavior through cutting-edge methodologies, contact us at omar.perez.r@uchile.cl.

Our Research Focus Includes:

    • Investigating habitual and goal-directed behaviors in decision-making.
    • Understanding how psychological and neural processes shape consumer choices.
    • Predicting commuter behavior with real-world data and computational approaches.
    • Exploring the effects of psychiatric conditions and brain lesions on decision-making, aiming to tailor public policy solutions to diverse populations.

We also plan to expand into behavioral experiments with non-human animals, leveraging our expertise to address questions about fundamental learning mechanisms and their relevance to real-world decisions
